Our Story

From 13 to 15 August 2025, for the first time, three student committee members of the International Law Unit USIM, were given the opportunity to participate in an international programme organised by Universitas Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia.

They were fourth-year Bachelor of Laws and Shariah students from the Faculty of Syariah and Law (FSU), USIM, namely Ahmad Adham bin Ismail, Ahmad Nabil bin Ahmad Hasnol, and Raja Ilyas bin Raja Izaham.

The participants were exposed to and attended short courses on Indonesian Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Agrarian Law, and Marriage Law. Their learning experience was not limited to lectures delivered by academic staff. The students were also given the opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge through presentation sessions based on their learning and experiences throughout their time at Universitas Brawijaya.

Furthermore, the programme extended beyond classroom learning. The participants were given the opportunity to visit several interesting destinations, including the historic Kampoeng Kajoetangan Heritage area, Mount Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in Indonesia, as well as a visit to Rohani Tempe Factory, where they were introduced to the processing and production of tempeh chips.

In line with their academic background as law students from USIM, the participants were also given the opportunity to engage in discussions and gain an introduction to the Legal Aid Centre of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya.
